There are times when it really isn't meant to be. Many people have an incorrect understanding of what the term “soulmate” means, believing that it simply refers to “the person you love” or “the person you marry.”
But the reality is, and those of you who have already found or met your soulmate will already be aware of this, that being in the company of the person you love is a completely different emotion and experience than being with your soulmate.
Not only have you fallen head over heels in love with this person, but you also feel a connection with them on some deeper level, whether it be intellectual, spiritual, or emotional.
Many people have trouble adequately describing this sensation. Your soulmate has all of your heart, and the intensity of your connection to them is unlike that of any other relationship.
This person is not only your other half, but they are also the person who understands you on a deeper level more than anyone else, the only person who makes you feel at ease and who you have known throughout many of your past lives.
You simply cannot picture your life without this person, but the most heartbreaking thing is realizing that you and your soulmate just aren't meant for each other in this life.
At least, not at this time. Perhaps you will be in the life after this one. However, at the moment you have exhausted all of your options, but the relationship has become unhealthy.
The pain of parting ways with a soul mate is almost insurmountable to bear. Similar to a typical breakup, but one hundred times more intense and emotionally damaging; it feels as though a significant portion of who you are is lost when that person departs from your life.
After you and your soulmate come to the conclusion that you are not meant to be in a relationship in this life, the following events will occur in your life:
1. You may find love again, but it'll never be the same
You will, without a doubt, experience falling in love once more, and perhaps even end up in a happy, fulfilling marriage. But even in that case, there will always be the impression that something is lacking.
Despite the amount of happiness in your life or the new relationship, there are times when you feel an emptiness that just can't be filled, and you have no idea why.
It is a part of you that cannot be reached in any way. It does not matter how much time has passed since you have last seen your soulmate; the feeling is still there.
Love never quite feels the same anymore. Whether or not you ever admit it, it is something that you feel to the very depths of your heart.
2. No matter how many years pass, you still think of the memories
Those memories will make it extremely challenging to move on. You have a tendency to keep playing these memories over and over in your head, particularly if you are going through a challenging period in your life.
No matter how many years pass, your mind will always wander back to this place, back when you were together, and a life that no longer exists.
You'll have random flashbacks, and those memories won't always originate from the same place.
However, regardless of whether the memories are pleasant or unpleasant, you will always have them with you.
3. You become a completely different person
When you and your soulmate break up, part of you will never be the same again. You will never feel the same way again.
You undergo a significant amount of change, most notably in the manner in which you approach all matters pertaining to the heart, such as dating and love.
It is as if the anguish of loss has permeated every part of your being and transformed your life beyond recognition. You just take on this completely different person, a mere ghost of yourself living this completely different life.
However, the fact of the matter is that most people like this version of you better. This is likely due to the fact that you have learned and developed a great deal since then, and as a result, you are able to see things more clearly now.
Getting to this point has caused you a great deal of suffering and you occasionally miss certain aspects of your previous self.
4. You could question all the bad things that happened
The thing is, if you're no longer dating your soulmate despite the fact that you've tried everything damn thing to make it work, then it's probably because things have gotten toxic or unhealthy between the two of you.
The intensity of sharing your life with your soulmate can frequently result in a great number of fights and arguments, which, of course, have the potential to become ugly.
On the other hand, the more you remove yourself from the situation and the more time passes, the more likely it is that you will begin to view all of the supposedly negative aspects of the situation in a new light.
You start to question whether some of these “bad” things were actually your fault in their entirety, or whether perhaps there was a better way for you to deal with the situation.
You may question how bad things actually were and think you may have overreacted.
5. Your soulmate still appears in your dreams
Even after a long period of time has passed, your true love will continue to visit you in your dreams.
It is your soul's and your subconscious's way of coping with the fact that you will no longer be able to go through this life with your soulmate by your side.
This reality may not bother you at all in your day-to-day life, but deep down, you may still be suffering from its effects.
6. You will settle into your new life, but your soul will always carry that person with you
You will progress, you will take pleasure in life, and you will have experiences and adventures in the future.
However, in some way or another, they will always be a part of you. You will always keep this in your heart and in your soul: her presence, the memories, and everything else.
And in the next life, when everything is supposed to work out the way intended, you and your soulmate will reunite, and it will be a truly magical experience for both of you.
But until then, make the most of every moment of your life. Love with every fiber of your being. See the world and achieve success. Develop into the most perfect version of yourself that you can be.
