The First Solar Eclipse Of 2023 Is Around The Corner, Bringing Life-changing Chaos With It

When there is a Full Moon, even the most mundane activities take on an air of drama and intensity. On the other hand, during a New Moon, we have the chance to either set meaningful intentions or plant the seeds of something we want to see grow over the course of the lunar cycle.

In either case, we are being asked to work with astrological energy. Eclipse seasons, which take place twice yearly and include approximately four lunar events, are an entirely different story.

These supercharged New and Full Moons are known to cause stunning shifts and significant course changes, both of which can foster growth.

The first Eclipse Season of 2023 will begin on Thursday, April 20, at 12:12 a.m. Eastern Time with a  New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aries.

This Solar Eclipse marks the beginning of a new series that will continue all the way up until March 29, 2025. It encourages self-sufficiency and authentic expression.

What do Solar Eclipses mean in Astrology?

There are many different things one can do to make the most of a New Moon. These can range from taking a favorite spiritual bath or simply having a conversation about your goals with a close friend or a therapist.

Solar eclipses, which occur when the Moon casts a shadow on the Sun, take place approximately twice a year and can be thought of as more intense New Moons.

Because the energy of an eclipse is so strong, the safest way to avoid directly working with it is to completely immerse yourself in a ritual.

Think of it as an astrological typhoon. Even if it means your life is disrupted in ways you weren't preparing for, the best way to deal with severe weather is to be informed and to take a hands-off approach, allowing storm clouds to sweep in and do their thing.

When the dust has settled, you might be able to see the bigger picture. In fact, solar eclipses have a strong connection to the process of introspection.

After all, according to astrology, the Sun is in charge of our fundamental identity and self-image, while the Moon is in charge of our emotions and intuition.

As a consequence, when the Moon casts its shadow on the Sun, you might feel compelled to reevaluate the way you perceive yourself. You may come to the conclusion that it is time to change your ways.

You must understand that not every solar eclipse will have a significant influence on your life or cause you to make big changes. It all depends on how the event interacts with your birth chart.

When an eclipse hits or makes an aspect to a major placement, you will feel its effects to the greatest degree.

When trying to determine how the solar eclipse might influence your life, it is important to take into account not only your “big three” (your Sun, Moon, and rising signs), but also the other planetary placements and angles in your chart (such as Mercury, Venus, and Mars signs).
